Week 10 - Apple iOS

Week 10 - Why I prefer iOS

Recently, I was reading up on mobile operating systems and the benefits and cons of different operating systems. Without a doubt, I realized that there would be benefits to using a different operating system such as Android. Ultimately, I decided that Apple would be more beneficial.

I must admit, I do have a bias towards apple as I have been familiar with them for a long time now. If I were to switch to another operating system, it would require a bit more learning and I don't see any utility coming out of me switching. I mean sure, I could get the benefits of having USB-c and being able to have a more customizable experience with Androids dynamic widgets, but to be honest none of that particularly appeals to me. I find that iOS has worked and served its purpose for me so I would rather not switch. I believe the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here.

So, what exactly does Apple appeal to me? Well, one of the biggest reasons is the simplicity of their devices. I am able to accomplish what I need to with ease and efficiency. Apple offers a great ecosystem that allows for the compatibility and use of many of its products across different devices. For example, iCloud allows me to easily sync important data from my phone to my iPad without any concerns. When I tried to connect my Apple Airpods to my phone for the first time, my phone registered the device, therefore when I tried to use it on my iPad for the first time the device information carried over and I didn't need to do additional connecting. Although this is a small thing, it is an example of apple products working well together.

Another factor for me is using apple specific features that other family members and friends use. For example, being able to use FaceTime and the emojis that apple uses allows me to feel more "connected" to those I am messaging. Apple in my opinion just has a cleaner UI that makes it feel much more polished to use.

Unrelated to the content, excuse the blog being a bit late this week. I do apologize.
